You’d think we were getting ready to sell our house or something, what with all the work we’re planning on putting in this season.
We just contracted with a friend’s contractor service to clean and re-paint the back porch, and replace the screens with claw-proof (it better be!) mesh. He also re-caulked all our window frames and re-painted them in preparation of hurricane shutters we’ve ordered.
Now that that’s done, Chris wants to get the yard back in shape. Apparently our house was built on the site of a filled-in swamp, so there’s been some sinkage and settling over the years. Our yard’s been showing it — along w/ some mole family that has set up house in our side yard — so we’re having another friend with a landscaping business come fix us up.
While expensive, it needs to be done. Plus, all of our friends with construction-related jobs are all suffering from lack of business, so we hope to help them out too, by sending some business their way.
