2011 ski trip

Just back from our annual ski trip to UT. It was lovely as always. Heavy winds kept most of the area resorts’ lifts delayed or even shut down for most of our trip, so we skipped around between Park City and Deer Valley. It was my first time skiing somewhere other than PC, and it was really nice to explore some new trails. Except for Bald Mountain with 35mph winds trying to push you into a bowl instead of a blue.

But I survived, nothing broken or bruised (except for my left shin — oww!). On Day 3 we had fresh snow: 7-12″ of pretty powder, and we got up before most others. There’s nothing quite like running along a mountainside with no one else in sight, no tracks ahead, and no sounds other than my skis whispering through fluffy snow.

I should’ve taken a picture… all I managed was the shot here, at the base of the town lift. It’s such a lovely place… even with the hubby frowning at me for looking the tourist!
